Joshua's Contract (First Edition)

This is the initial contract for Joshua, which we revised slightly after the first year and have kept the same ever since.

Contractual Service Obligations for Joshua T
In Service to Raven Kaldera Regis,
King of Asphodel and Lord of Cauldron Farm

With this contract, Raven Kaldera Regis, King of Asphodel, hereby accepts Joshua T into his service for the period of one year and one day. During this period of service, Joshua will submit his person and himself to the mastery of his Lord.

With this contract, we enter into a sacred partnership of mastery and submission. Joshua will formally undertake the path of spiritual service to Raven and, through him, to the Gods. Raven will take on the responsibility of gracious acceptance and honorable use of the gift Joshua offers to him; he will strive always to be worthy of Joshua's trust, and to be above malice and pettiness. We both submit ourselves to the Gods for judgment should we fail in our trust.

We desire that virtue, honor, and integrity will be a significant part of our relationship. Therefore, we agree that the virtues of trust, honesty, openness, loyalty, and honor will be fundamental to Joshua's service to Raven, and also to Raven's care of Joshua. Joshua will not be required to do anything unethical, dishonorable, or against the edicts of his gods. Should he behave dishonestly or dishonorably, Raven may declare the contract null and void, and choose to release him from this service. In counterpart, should Raven act with repeated and unrepentant dishonor and disregard for Joshua's well-being, Joshua can declare this contract null and void, since he cannot honorably serve a dishonorable master.

Joshua will be an integral part of the Cauldron Farm family, clan, and household. His needs will be taken into consideration at family meetings. He will treat each member of the household with the respect and deference due to their position. He will always have a place in our bed, under our roof, at our table, and in our hearts.

Joshua will take orders and direction from Queen Bella Kaldera on any household or farmstead matter, and these directions will be second only to those of his owner. The Queen will not have ownership rights over Joshua, but she and her orders will be treated with the respect due her rank and position.

Raven will have the following ownership rights over Joshua:

I. Absolute access to body. Joshua's flesh and blood belongs entirely to Raven, and he may do with it what he wishes. In his turn, Raven will endeavor not to damage his property, and to provide adequate food, shelter, clothing, rest and sleep time, and medical care.

A. As an extension, Raven also has absolute access to any and all physical property and resources belonging to Joshua, although he may simply request that Joshua steward those resources carefully until such time as Raven chooses to access them.

B. Raven has the right to demand sexual service from Joshua at any time that he chooses, although as with all tasks, Joshua's physical and mental state will be taken into consideration.

C. No one else has any access to Joshua's flesh without applying respectfully to Raven for permission, and being interrogated and approved. Raven may deny anyone access to any part of Joshua at any time for any reason, although he agrees to explain the reason to Joshua.

D. Joshua may not exchange bodily fluids with anyone other than Raven and Bella. In return, Raven and Bella both agree to the same restriction, creating a polyfidelitous fluid bond.

E. Joshua may not ingest any mind-altering substance without permission from Raven.

II. Absolute access to mind. Joshua has no right to privacy of word, thought, or deed from his master. Raven can demand and expect to get immediate and truthful information on any part of Joshua's life, including dreams, thoughts, fantasies, information, knowledge, and words and deeds past and present. Anything that Joshua knows, thinks, or writes will be at Raven's disposal.

A. Joshua agrees to learn any specific skills that Raven requires of him, with alacrity and serious application. Raven will be the sole judge of whether a given skill or field of knowledge is beyond his ability, and he will be expected to apply himself repeatedly and persistently over a significant period of time until it is clear to Raven that no further improvement can be made.

B. Joshua's skills are at Raven's disposal as well. Joshua will make an effort to notice when specific skills of his would be useful, and to volunteer them.

III. Absolute access to emotions. We agree to a discipline of radical honesty with each other. Neither of us may let resentments pile up without speaking, or lie about how we feel regarding each other or any part of the relationship. We both agree that when asked for our feelings on any matter, they will be open and honest.

A. Raven may choose to honestly inform Joshua that any matter not concerning him or their relationship is none of his concern. Joshua must reveal his feelings on any matter that interests Raven.

B. Joshua agrees to maintain an ability to objectively view their relationship, and not allow himself to become a drone, in the best interests of maintaining mental health for both parties.

C. Raven agrees to take seriously Joshua's feelings and opinions regarding the relationship, Joshua's own mental health, and Raven's behavior towards him. He will never penalize Joshua for being candid with his perceptions, nor require Joshua to baby his ego.

IV. Absolute access to will. Joshua agrees to be completely obedient to Raven in any way that Raven commands. He agrees to obey Raven in anything that he is asked to do. He may voice an objection, but he may not refuse any command that does not place him in physical, legal, or ethical jeopardy.

A. Joshua is not allowed to be submissive in this way to anyone else. He is required to take orders concerning the household management from Bella, and he may play with other tops with Raven's permission and within Raven's presence, but he must conduct himself assertively and independently with everyone else. Full submission is reserved entirely for his master and owner.

B. Raven agrees that Joshua shall not be lent to anyone for sexual purposes without Raven being present, and that those purposes will not involve Joshua's genitals, which belong solely to Raven. Although Joshua may not refuse a command to service someone sexually in other ways, he is not required to show enthusiasm, although he must remain courteous and professional.

C. Joshua agrees to submit to Raven when his master requires him to suffer pain. He may not refuse to submit, although his physical condition at any given time will be taken into account. A safeword during scenes will allow him time to focus and prepare himself, at his master's discretion, but he has no power to stop any scene or any of Raven's actions during any scene. His suffering is a gift given to his master, and will never be used for purposes of punishment.

D. This relationship will not rely on physical punishment, or restriction of privileges, for discipline. If Joshua fails to correctly obey an order, both the reason for failure and an effective solution will be determined by discussion. For repeated offenses, the master's disappointment and anger, and banishment from the master's presence until further notice, should be punishment enough.

V. Absolute access to time. Joshua's time and energy are to be scheduled around his usefulness to Raven and to the household. In return, Raven promises to make sure that he has adequate time for rest, sleep, personal care, and following his own hobbies and interests.

A. Joshua will work out a regular schedule of his time and chores with Raven and Bella's input, and follow it religiously.

B. Joshua will make himself available for any random personal duty that Raven may require. If he is currently occupied, Raven will make the timetable of that duty clear so that no schedule conflicts occur.

C. Joshua will endeavor to make the best use of his time, and remain focused on chores that require his immediate attention.

This contract shall stand for one year and one day, at which time it shall be reevaluated, and renegotiated or discarded as we choose.
